1.INVITATION 

1.1 The organizers, the Israeli Chess Federation, warmly invite all players to participate in the Jerusalem Rapid Open. The dates are 24th– 25th to September.

1.2 Rate of play: 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move, starting from move 1.

1.3 9-round Swiss tournament.

1.4 Venue: Ramada Hotel

 Sderot Wolfson 6, Jerusalem

Free parking on a “first come, first served” basis.

3.REGISTRATION

3.1 The deadline for registration and payment is September 1st.

3.2 The registration fee is 25 euros per player.

3.3 GMs and WGMs may enter free of charge.

3.4 IMs and WIMs are offered a 50% discount.

3.5 The registration fee is compulsory and is confirmation of participation. 

3.6 The first 30 foreign players (non-residents) will enjoy a special fee of only 10 euros!

3.7 After the registration deadline, organizers reserve the right to refuse or decline late registrations, or, if there is availability, a fee of 40 euros for each late registration will be charged to participants.

4. HOTEL 

4.1 Players shall reserve hotel rooms, if needed.

Payment should be made directly to the hotel https://ramadajerusalemhotel.com/.

4.2 The reservation will be made on a “first come, first served” basis. 

4.3 Players are not obliged to use the hotel recommended by the Organizing Committee.

5. TECHNICAL REGULATIONS

5.1 The Championships will be held according to FIDE tournament rules and Laws of Chess.

5.2 The FIDE anti-cheating rules and guidelines are valid for the tournament.

5.3 The FIDE rapid rating will be used as for the pairings and for the prizes categories. In the case that a player does not have a FIDE rapid rating, the highest rating between the classical or blitz ratings will be used for the same purposes.

5.4 An unrated player (for all three ratings) cannot win a rating category prize.

5.5 The tournament will be rated according to FIDE laws.

5.6 The final ranking order of the players is determined by the number of points scored. In the case of a tie, the following tie-break criteria are established: 

  • The games between the tied players (only if all tied have played each other).
  • Buchholz cut 1.
  • Buchholz.
  • The greater number of games with black (unplayed games count as played with white).
  • The greater number of wins.

6. APPEALS PROCEDURE 

The decisions of the Chief Arbiter are final.
